Another Film to Amp You for Alpine Season!

Renan and Cory's awesome film about their ascent of Tawoche's 1200m Central South Buttress. If you can't tell, I am getting excited for alpine season up here in Alaska. A confirmed trip to the Neacolas to try a couple 4000 foot buttresses and possibly as 3000 foot face in May - June, and a trip to the Hayes in July, both for unclimbed alpine lines, are great goals to look forward to. This year my fitness is finally back where I want it to be despite grad school, so I am looking forward to pushing myself. How about you?

  1. Just got back from a trip I've wanted to do for 6 or 7 years to an alpine lake with massive ice covered walls. Leaving in two weeks for the Alaska Range. Spending a month between June and July in Peru. August in the Juneau Ice Field, Stikine or North Cascades. The stoke is very high! Thanks for the post. Good luck!

  2. Hey Ryan, thanks for the comment. I am psyched to hear of your plans and sounds like I better check out your blog to see these walls you speak of. It would be a pleasure to meet up sometime and talk shop. Good luck to you. Another trip is probably happening for me in August as well, either back to the Arrigetch or possibly somewhere like the Canadian Rockies, Howsers or Combatant area hopefully. Best of luck to you on your endeavors. First send of the AK season just went down as Scotty Vincik and Clint Helander sent Mt. Mausolus via a 4500 foot line w/ some perfect steep alpine ice cruxes.
